Amazing LED Cape

Andrew “Bruce” Lau is a genius for thinking of this LED cape which he wore around Maker Faire all weekend, much to the surprise of just about anyone who was there. Andrew apparently soldered metal beads to surface mount LEDs, stitching them in a grid using conductive thread. A PIC microcontroller will take care of the proceedings from there, scrolling letters such as “MAKE” and “DIY” in addition to traveling patterns. I wonder whether Count Dracula has already placed his downpayment for one of these…
